Not one thing from the unhelpful staff on the desk to the basic, dirty rooms.
I checked in then checked straight out...almost inclined to contact trades description..what an awful place and certainly would not even stay for one night...complete waste of £120 !!!!
It is in the middle of London and it is really a bargain considering the houses next to the hotel. If you want to smoke a cigar you may do it next to the hotel in the Corinthia. But a room there costs 10times more.
Staff and Location also the laundry and kitchen facilities
No TV in room
I payed €150 to stay in a prison room (2,5 x2.5 Meters) and a caraven bathroom I WANT HALF OF MY MONEY BACK
They gave me a room 2.5 meters x 2.5 meters the bathroom wasnt a propal bathroom was a compact shower (the one they use for caravans)with the smalest sing I have ever seen in my life the toothpast fall on the floor I had no room to put my suitcase every time I open the main door the door was hiting my suitcase when you are in the toilet your feet are in the shower so if you have a shower now you can't go to toilet till the floor dryed your shocks or shoes will be wet and you will cary the water in the carpet I book a double room but I travel by my self if I had to take my wife with me the double bed wasn't enough to sleep two this hotel is not for any man 50 years of age who payed 150 euros for the night for one person the fotos in the booking .com are not saying the truth or not show my room any way I am asking for half of my money back the catle was rusty and full of minerals and dirty the receptionist had to give me his catle to make a coffe I will say this hotel is good for young people who has not much money and want something very central I say do not stay in this hotel
I am very glad that I found the address to this residence. I didn´t want to spend much money on my living in London for those days I spent there. And for me LSE Northumberland House was quite sufficient. I wanted to stay near the museums and other things I had planned to visit during my days in London and I could not have found a better place to stay. I keep telling my friends about it and I hope I can stay there another summer when I visit London. Thank you very much, specially thanks to the nice young people working in the reception, they were very helpful.
It was central to the things we wanted to see and do. It was clean and quiet.
It was very very basic , could do with a T.V or radio in room.
It provided at a very reasonable cost exactly what I paid for, with no frills like TV or wifi, yet a clean and basic room and shower room. It was also quiet which is rare in London budget accommodation. East to use yet safe entrance system, which I needed as I did not return until after 1am
Bedding appeared fresh and was fine but one or two hairs were spotted
Excellent location near to Trafalgar squar, Charing Cross and Embankment
Small room facing 2 m to the opposite wall, no TV, promissed internet not working, AND no clean up of the room!, fresh towel to be collected at reception. Even a "student residence" does not need to be so messy and charging a much too high price for this "sevice"
Room was never cleaned.long hair stuck under my feed when walk from bathroom to bed.no fresh towels for the 3 days not even had a glass for water
The building was so quite and had a fantastic sleep! Also in the morning i was surrounded by silence therefore very relaxing
If you want to see London on a tight budget ~ look no further! A room right at the heart of the capital for a fraction of the cost of the hotels nearby. or anywhere in London, in fact. If all you require is a comfortable, clean room, this is probably just right for you. I recently stayed at a budget hotel more than a mile and a half away from here and it cost me considerably more ~ with no en-suite! I think that these LSE rooms, (there are other locations), have got to be Londons hidden, or not so hidden, if you know where to look, gems! I heartily recommend Northumberland House. On my next visit to London , I shall definitely stay here, or one of the other LSE rooms.
I cannot fault anything about Northumberland House.
Didn't realise it was student accommodation, didn't like the bathroom. It was too basic, would rather pay another £50 to stay in a hotel.
The location is amazing, 2 minutes from Trafalgar Sq.
The price is very high for the quality of the accomodation, as it is usual in london. The bathroom was a cubicle in which you could brush your teeth, use the toilet and have a shower all at the same time.... very efficient.
clean and tidy, close to the meeting I was attending, handy for all ameneties
the tardis toilet in the room
This is not a hotel, it is a student dorm and was exactly as advertised, nothing misleading. In general it was clean, no evidence of vermin, bedbugs or other types of pests (I checked the mattress and around the room). Excellent staff (for the most part, although some were little indifferent), exceptionally helpful, even more than some higher end hotels I have stayed at. I was exceptionally pleased with how I was treated. Bed was comfortable and comforter was warm. Outstanding location and you can't beat the price.
They could have vacuumed the room, at least prior to occupancy and once during the stay. I know this because the first time I took a shower I had to step out to get soap and when I step back in my feet were dirty. Bathroom was marginally cleaned. Phone did not work due to a dispute with the phone company. Room heat cannot be controlled so sometimes I was a little cold, maybe too much so for women or the elderly. Please keep in mind. This is a dorm. These issues are minor and easily fixed. The combination of location at the price paid can't be beat.
